Lake of the Ozarks plays host the Big Bass Bash usually twice a year in the spring and fall. In 2021 Lake of the Ozarks/Truman Lake: April 17-18, 2021. In 2020, the spring event was cancelled due to Covid. When the 2020 fall event took place, it was permitted by Ameren along with a boat race on Lake of the Ozarks. Due to the congestion and traffic on the lake, anglers are being given the option in spring 2021 to fish either Truman or Lake of the Ozarks for the event. If you are a fisherman looking for some competition with prize money on the line, look no further because The Big Bass Bash is a chance of a lifetime for any angler. The Big Bass Bash is a bass fishing tournament that has been held on three different lakes in Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake, and in Oklahoma at Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees. The goal for this tournament is to catch the heaviest/largest bass from everyone else.
The Big Bass Bash is said to be one of the largest fishing competitions in the US. This historic tournament started in 2006 and gives out some of the largest cash prizes for a fishing tournament and has given back millions of dollars to the various winners. In 2019 they paid out over $250,000 to the different winners.
This tournament gives the opportunity to novice fisherman to be able to compete with the professionals and still be able to win large cash prizes. Feel free to enter the tournament on their website and don’t forget to read the rules and to look at the schedule for the dates of when the tournament will take place.
Entry free usually is per person per day at $140.00 for one day and $190.00 for two days and for the children’s division $10.00 per day. Children can also participate in The Big Bass Bash children’s division.
